Yikes–Back to School Time Approaching. Get Your Kids Ready!
Although it may seem hard to believe, area schools will be back in session before you know it. This is an excellent time to think ahead and make sure your kids are well prepared. Every year we experience a rush of patients trying to schedule well child visits prior to fall sports.
Athletic physicals are required prior to participation in area junior high, and high school athletics. Schedule an appointment now with one of our providers for a well child visit and avoid the rush and panic. In addition to approving athletes for participation, athletic physicals are a great time for the physicians at Associates in Family Medicine to review crucial wellness areas. We take every opportunity to interact with adolescent patients to address appropriate lifestyle choices, review and update immunizations, and to discuss safety issues such as proper use of seat belts and bike helmets.
Most health insurances cover wellness or preventive services and many do not even apply this to any deductible payment. So instead of paying “out of pocket” for a limited sports physical, our staff highly recommend scheduling a full well child exam. Please consult with your insurance carrier for specific benefit coverage.
