Julie K. Thornton, P.A.-C.

Julie Thornton was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelors degree in Biology along with 4 years of division 1 tennis playing under her belt. She then continued to pursue her career and love of medicine, going on to graduate from Marietta College in 2005 with a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

After graduating, she practiced orthopedics and inpatient medicine In Virginia for 8 years. Her husband Mike is also a Physician Assistant, and they both posses a love for the outdoors and sports. After visiting Colorado 6 years ago they knew they wanted to make the transition but were waiting for the right opportunity. The perfect jobs finally became available for both her and her husband so they sold their house, loaded up the car, and traveled across the country.

Missing family medicine and patient interactions, Julie decided to use her orthopedic knowledge but focus on more general medicine and joined Associates in Family medicine June 2013.

She and her husband try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, exploring what Colorado has to offer. They enjoy hiking, biking, camping, fitness, music and good food.
