Mason S. Shamis, M.D.

Dr. Shamis completed his residency at Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency Program in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2010. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. For the past three years he has been practicing family medicine with Centura Health in Canon City. Thankfully, he and his family were eager to return to Fort Collins.

He believes in “whole-person health care”, practicing a personalized style of medicine that focuses on the person rather than their illness or disease. Dr. Shamis believes that lifestyle choices impact patients in far greater ways than medicines. He enjoys caring for people of all ages including young families and extended generations. He also has additional interests in skin care and preventive health care.

In 2011, Dr. Shamis earned Level 3 recognition (the highest level) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for providing patient-centered medical care. Dr. Shamis values the principles of the medical home initiative, providing team-based, compassionate care.
